War Eagle Band- We hope that you had a wonderful Thanksgiving Holiday (ate, rested , and played alot) We also hope that you are ready for the next three weeks….They are busy, busy, busy!
Some general information:
- Midwest rehearsals continue everyday this week. Please consult Mr. Dillard’s calendar for specific times. The first performance is in two weeks and the trip is in 2 1/2 weeks so it is imperative that everyone attends ALL rehearsals.
2. The holiday season is full of many concerts, please consult the calendar for dates and times. All band students are in the process of being fitted into their Formal Concert Uniforms. We will wear them on December 11 at our Holiday concert. Please make sure you have the following items:
Boys: long-sleeved, button down, solid white shirt with a collar (tux shirt) You can get one from Al’s Formal Wear for a reasonable price.
- Long SOLID black socks
- Solid black shoes (your marching shoes will be fine)
Girls:
- Solid black, CLOSED toe, CLOSED heel shoes (boots, sandals, flip flops not appropriate)
3. Later on this week I will be sending an email out with more details regarding the Disney trip. In that email will be hotel, parade and chaperon details.
- Region Band Auditions Phase 1 are this week. Students have been preparing for this very big audition since August. Please see the schedule for the auditions below (Friday and Saturday). Good Luck to all who are auditioning.

- Mr. Green will be at the school to clinic the bands during class
- Full Orchestra Rehearsal 3pm – 5pm
- Midwest Rehearsals after school
Tuesday:
Midwest Rehearsals after school
Wednesday:
- Full Orchestra Rehearsal 3pm – 5pm
- Midwest Rehearsals after school
Thursday:
Full Orchestra to perform at The Holly Jolly Jingle Concert (Woods Pavilion)
3 – 4:30 rehearsal
4:30 – 5:30 dinner (provided) change into formal uniform
5:30 – bus to pavilion
7:00pm Perform
9:00pm Return to ORHS
Midwest Rehearsals after school
Friday:
Region Band Audition Phase 1 for the following instruments: (piccolo, oboe, english horn, bass clarinets, tenor/bari saxes, bassoons, bass trombones, euphoniums and tubas)
4:00pm DeKaney HS (NO BUS WILL BE AVAILABLE) you must provide your own transportation to and from the audition.
Saturday:
Region Band Audition Phase 1(continues for the following instruments: flutes, clarinets, alto saxes, trumpets, french horns, tenor trombones)
2:00pm DeKaney HS (there will be a bus available to go to DeKaney at 1pm) Please let us know if you are going to ride the bus or meet us there. However, there will not be a bus returning to the school after the audition. You must provide your own transportation from the audition.
