Now they are HEADED TO STATE!! We are SO PROUD of each of you!! And CONGRATS to our amazing directors for getting our students to this high level of success! We truly appreciate the time and commitment you each have given to make our marching show BRIGHT & BEAUTIFUL this year! Hello War Eagle Band Boosters! Thanks to all the parents who volunteered for our game this past Friday vs The Woodlands. There sure were a lot of cheers for our amazing kids, because they looked and sounded great! Now we hope you & your students are fully rested and recharged for anexciting week coming up!

We cannot STRESS the importance of this grading period, as it affects your student’s eligibility.
Any student who is not passing all of their classes as of this Friday will be INELIGIBLE! We cannot afford to have empty spots in our beautiful marching show! So PLEASE check your students grades ASAP to be sure they are passing every class!

Please note the kids will be fed Pizza Hut for this Friday’s pre-game meal. If any student has specific dietary needs or concerns, please contact Sandra Castaneda or Diana Gomez for assistance. There are also opportunities to sign up in Charms to help serve meals/drinks for pre-game meals!

This will be an exciting and busy night at Moorehead Stadium in Conroe as we will have Irons 8th graders join our band for “Future Ware Eagle Band” students! There are opportunities to sign up for volunteers in Charms, so please do so right away! If you are not able to chaperone or volunteer we encourage you to come out & cheer for our students-they really love to see the support!

Please refer to Ms. P’s email to the band earlier today regarding the care & specific washing details for these beautiful contest jackets. We cannot wait to see how the show will look this Friday!  And since there are no extra jackets available, it is IMPERATIVE that you maintain excellent care of your student’s show jacket during the entire marching season.

Our Flag Committee would like to say a BIG THANK YOU  to all who turned out this past Saturday to help return flags! While some volunteers placed and/or picked up 2 routes, most everyone placed only 1 route. This means we can work easier & faster by having the work load spread out. There are still opportunities to assist with flag committee if interested. Any questions? Please contact Melissa Lunkwitz.

A BIG thanks to ALL the parents/volunteers who came out this past Saturday to help with finishing the front screens for our beautiful marching show. It was very short notice, but we appreciate you very much for helping out! Keep in mind, we still need to work on the back screens and the trellis for the show, so stay tuned for additional dates/times. At least we got the front screens all finished so our students can begin working with them & perfecting it for the show!

Please be sure you are spreading the word about our Mattress Fundraisers NOW!
Ms. P attached a flyer to her band email earlier today. Please feel free to print & SHARE with your friends, family, co-workers etc. That is ALL we need to do is get the word out to our community. Milcah Ray & her amazing team from CFS/Mattress Firm will do the rest! Hope to see you there!

Please note the Spirit shirts, decals, show shirts etc will be available for purchase this Thurs 09/20 starting at 4pm to the end of marching rehearsal. They will be set up in the band hall, and this will be the last opportunity to purchase spirit gear prior to Homecoming!  Please contact Vicky Roberts if you have any questions.

Please come out to the band hall this Sat 9/22 from 9am-12 noon to help make spirit signs/posters to support our awesome kids! We know you will be at the school anyway purchasing your mattress/pillows/sheet sets. So either before or after the mattress purchase, come to the band hall and show off your creative side!  Please bring poster boards and supplies to help make signs so our kids will be able to spot us cheering for them in the stands at contest!

Thank you for your continued support of our sensational students and this wonderful booster club!

Guard Mom note – The Homecoming game is Friday 10/16. It has been tradition for the girls to receive a Homecoming mum to wear at the game. Typically, a group of guard parents get together a few times to make the mums. We are planning on having the first “MUM Making” party on Saturday 9/22 – place and time to be determined. We have 40 mums to assemble – we would love to have your help! More details to follow soon…very soon.
**NOTE** The cost for this mum is $10. You should have gotten a cash app request from Guard Mom Nikohl Allgood. We are missing a few cell numbers on our contact list so if you did not get the request, please contact Nikohl @ 281-381-6731. If you would rather send cash to school with your daughter, please put $10 in a sealed envelope with her name on it and have her turn it into Alysha (Social Officer).
If you are interested in seeing what the mums looked like last year, check out the PARENTS THAT LOVE OAK RIDGE GUARD FACEBOOK PAGE. I’ll re-post some pictures. The girls enjoy having this privilege – it is something special that the directors allow only the GUARD to do for Homecoming. BUT it is an ALL or NOTHING type of thing. That means we have to have 100\% participation or it cannot happen. Also, because it will be considered a part of their uniform, the girls are ONLY allowed to wear the mums that are “Guard Mom made” at the game. We will hand out the mums on game night after the girls have changed into uniform. If your daughter wore a mum of her choice to school that day, there will be a place for her to hang that mum in the guard room for safe keeping while we are at the game.
One last thing… PARENTS THAT LOVE OAK RIDGE GUARD FACEBOOK PAGE is aclosed group for parents only. Very recently, we had some guard girls request to join so they can access the AWESOME pics that we parents post. You know the ones that they give us a hard time about taking but then can’t wait to see. Due to unfortunate past situations, we have to decline any student request to join the parent page even though we realize it’s only to get access to those “dreadful” pics that they secretly love. So feel free to save and share the pics to their other media accounts for them to enjoy.
Hope to see you Tuesday night at the Booster Meeting!
