Hello War Eagle Band/Color Guard,

We had another great week of rehearsals….despite the weather!   We have an exciting week ahead of us with a lot of different things happening.   The number one thing being the First day of classes!  It is exciting and we want all our War Eagle band/guard students to get off to a great start.

#1-  Tuesday is PICTURE DAY.  We will be taking our formal band photo for the yearbook and also for the football program.   We are also going to treat it like a “game day” run through.   Students will need to be in the band hall at 8am.…dressed in their uniform under garments ( black shoes, long solid black socks, compression shorts, black underarmour shirt).  Students will go through inspection so that we can check the fit of their uniform.  You have the opportunity to purchase the band picture and also to take individual pictures in uniform.  Students can pick up picture order forms in the band hall.  All payment and orders can ONLY be done on Tuesday.   There is not an opportunity for late orders.

#2-Letter Jacket fitting is also on Tuesday at 11am.  Students who think they have qualified for a letter jacket should have received their order packet last week.   Again,  Tuesday is the only day that we will be doing fittings.  Students will not have another opportunity to order letter jackets if they have qualified for one.

#3- SNAP-Raise doing great.  As of this email we have raised $12,711.  Please continue to share your link on social media.   The more you do…..the more people will have an opportunity to support our program!

#4-Disney Trip – We are accepting reservations for the Spring Trip to Disney World.  Please do not forget to turn in your contract to Ms. Pradervand in order to finalize your reservation.  Deadline for reservation is August 31.

#5 – Band Olympics….Our annual Band Olympics social function is this Friday.   Band Olympics is a tradition of the War Eagle band/guard program.   It celebrates the end of our summer band and is a great social function for our students and adults.   Each section will “name their country” and compete in various events throughout the evening.   There will be an opening ceremony with our version of the “parade of countries”  and a closing ceremony complete with video highlights and the naming of our Gold Medalist section.   Parents are invited to come and watch….we will also need parent volunteers to provide transportation for our “scavenger hunt” event.

Monday – Rehearsal at 4pm – 8pm   (we will be fitting the uniform dress)  As a reminder, you must have paid for the uniform dress in order to be fitted and to be able to take the band picture on Tuesday.
