Pavilion Help Needed for Tim McGraw!

We are in need of 3 volunteers for Saturday, August 9, 2014 (Tim McGraw). Gates open at 6pm.

 

We need 2 runners and 1 cashier.

 

In order to volunteer for this show you MUST be TABC certified. If you need to complete your certification, you may attend a free class by send and RSVP to Ussery-Duane@Aramark.com. The class is on Wednesday, August 6th from 6-8pm. This is the LAST free TABC class of the season.

 

Please sign up by Thursday, August 7th in order for us to send a completed roster to Aramark.

This Week in ORHS Band 8/3/2014

Hello War Eagle Band Family,

We had a great first day of band. We got all of the “cobwebs” out and I know we will be ready to hit the ground running tomorrow.

 REMINDERS:

#1- medical forms are due by Friday

#2- Please wear your practice shirts to rehearsal everyday. Be sure that you are dress appropriately and are prepared for the heat. Please eat a healthy breakfast and don’t forget your WATER JUG. If you come to rehearsal unprepared we will have to send you home with an unexcused absence.

 NEW INFORMATION: That is going home on MONDAY

#1- Students will be given two forms that require a parent signature:

One is a UIL Acknowledgment form the other says that you have read and understand the Band Handbook. The Band Handbook can be found on the Charms website and please read over it.

 

#2- We are beginning our first fundraiser for the new year. It is our annual BAND OLYMPICS!. The Band Olympics will be held on Friday, August 15 and it is a competition between all of the sections. Students will receive specific information and a fundraiser coupon book to begin this fundraiser. BE sure and ask them about it when they get home on Monday.

 

#3- We have a carpool list available for those who might need some help with a ride.

#4 – Students will need a spiral bound index card booklet. This will be there dot book. We will show them exactly what they need tomorrow. They will need to have it by Thursday. This is their drill book.

Uniform Washing Needed!

Uniform Washing Instructions for Washing Volunteers

Dear Parents,

 

The Band is in dire need to get their uniforms washed before the first game. Starting Friday, August 8th, we will have uniforms ready to be picked up in batches of 12. Please stop by the band hall way and pick up a batch or let me know and we will send them home with your student. The uniforms need to be returned with in 2-3 days of pick up. All the uniforms need to be back by August 22nd.

 

 

 

Please let me know if you are willing to help and be a permanent member of the washing crew. It is not a huge commitment but we definitely need your help. There will be additional 3 more pick up dates: Sept. 15th, Sept. 29th and Oct. 13th.

 

 

 

Also, if anyone knows of a dry cleaner or owns a dry-cleaning business who is able to give the band a discount on professionally cleaning all the uniforms, please let me know.
